It was one of the most shocking moments of Avengers Endgame. Prompted by Doctor Strange that he only had one chance to defeat Thanos, Tony Stark managed to transfer the six Infinity Stones to his Iron Man armour. Surprising Thanos, he snapped his fingers turning the villain and his army to dust at the cost of his own life with the line: ‘And I am Iron Man.” Now Downey Jr’s assistant Jimmy Rich has shared a behind-the-scenes video of the star shooting the iconic moment.
But then Avengers Endgame’s editor realised that the final line of the first Iron Man movie was a perfect fit.
The directors continued: “Thanos was saying ‘I am inevitable.’
“And our editor Jeff Ford, who’s been with us all four movies and is an amazing storyteller, said ‘Why don’t we just go full circle with it and say I am Iron Man.’
“And we’re like, ‘Get the cameras! We have to shoot this tomorrow.’”
