Tom Hardy Venom vs Tom Holland Spider-Man teased by Marvel boss Kevin Feige

Next month Avengers Endgame sequel Spider-Man Far From Home hits cinemas. Holland’s Web-Slinger will be facing Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio in the solo sequel after defeating Michael Keaton’s Vulture in Spider-Man Far From Home. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures, who own the rights to Spider-Man characters, have their own separate movie universe going on with Hardy’s Venom and others. Marvel fans will, of course, remember Spidey fighting Venom in Spider-Man 3, but will Hardy and Holland face-off?

Well, now Marvel boss Kevin Feige has been promoting Spider-Man Far From Home and was asked about such a crossover.

Speaking with CinemaBlend, he said: “I think probably it’s up to Sony.

“Sony has both those characters and, has Venom in their world.

“I don’t know what their plans are for another Venom or if they’re doing that. But it seems likely at some point.”

By the sounds of it bringing Hardy’s Venom into the MCU at some point is something being taken into great consideration.

Last month, a reliable Marvel leaked said that Sony want Venom to be in the third MCU Spider-Man solo movie.

Anonymous leaker Roger Wardell correctly predicted aspects of Avengers Endgame last December, so appears to be pretty trustworthy.

He wrote: “There are no plans to add Deadpool in an MCU Spider-Man 3, but Sony desperately wants Tom Hardy’s Venom in this movie.”

Venom 2 is set to release in 2020, and judging by Sony’s Spider-Man movie schedule, they’ll want his third MCU solo outing ready for Summer 2021.

And with the Sinister Six being set up, perhaps Venom could be included there.

Meanwhile, the first reactions for Spider-Man Far From Home are very positive.

Spider-Man Far From Home is released in UK cinemas on July 2, 2019.
