Susanna Reid, 48, shared a surprising fact during an interview with the Loose Women panellist earlier this week, about shooting scenes for Death Row: Countdown To Execution. The Good Morning Britain presenter revealed that she was “patted down” when she arrived at the Texas prison and described the whole experience as “extraordinary”. The ITV favourite also admitted she had her knickers searched on the way into a top security prison to meet inmates on death row. Appearing on Loose Women, she divulged: “You go into a maximum security prison, so you are completely patted down of course, they search your underwear to make sure you are not carrying any weapons in.
“You meet the death row prison who is facing execution, and I have to say it’s a sort of privilege to do the last interview with somebody in that situation.
“You do not actually sit in a room with them, they are brought in shackled into a little cell then I go in and interview them behind reinforced glass.
“It’s an extraordinary experience.”
Viewers will get to see Susanna speak to death row inmates which she also described as “chilling”.
Concluding her chat on the ITV daytime show, she said: “It’s a really chilling experience to be with someone who knows they’re going to die.”
The mother-of-two has since taken to Instagram and posted an article telling viewers to tune into the programme which airs tonight.
She captioned the post: “TONIGHT 9pm ITV Death Row: Countdown to Execution – a pick of the day.”
Some fans couldn’t contain their excitement, as one person said: “Love this and will definitely be watching it tonight,” while another person added: “Will be watching this for sure.”
Meanwhile, the presenter joined her Good Morning Britain co-star Piers Morgan at the Royal Ascot 2019 yesterday.
The brunette beauty looked effortlessly chic in a nude pink ensemble, as she took in the action from the ITV box.
She later posed for snaps alongside Piers and television icon, Dame Joan Collins, who sported a pink floral dress.
The actress gushed over Susanna as she refereed to the small-screen star as her “twin”.
Taking to Instagram, Joan uploaded a snap of the trio at the big event.
In view of her 160,00 she captioned the photo: “Having fun at @ascotracecourse with my twin sister @susannareid100 and my stepbrother @piersmorgan.”
