George Clooney: Catch-22 star talks 'picking good fights' with wife Amal Clooney

George Clooney, 58, and Amal Clooney, 41, are one of the world’s most famous A-list couples and are also parents to two-year-old twins Ella and Alexander. Having found love and settled down with the human rights lawyer, Hollywood hunk George spoke out about the dangers her job involves and how it impacts on their life as a family. Asked about Amal prosecuting ISIS, he told this week’s OK! Magazine. “We definitely talk about things. I said I am going to stop going to dangerous war zones and she is also going to stop going to certain places.

“We were like, ‘Well, we’ve got kids and we are together now,’” he admitted. “But that doesn’t curb what she does.

“She is tough as nails and she’s going to keep doing what she believes is the right thing to do.

“Our family motto is, ‘Pick good fights,’” the Catch-22 actor added.

George went on to talk about the whether or not the Clooney family employs security.

“We have to pay attention because the world id different now, but we also have to live our lives in as normal a way as possible,” he said.

“That’s why I try not to surround myself with the kind of protection that isolates you.”

George and Amal met in 2013 and got engaged the following year.

In September 2014, they tied the knot in Italy.

Meanwhile, their famous friends Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan Markle, 37, recently welcomed their first child, baby boy Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Archie was born on May 6, meaning he shares his birthday with George.

Last month, George Clooney broke his silence on if he will be royal baby Archie’s godfather or not.

Despite being close friends with the royal parents, the Ocean’s star said it would be a “bad idea” for him to be godfather to Archie during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

“That would be a bad idea,” he said. “I shouldn’t be the godfather. I’m a father of twins, I can barely do that!”

Asked if he would turn down the role if Meghan and Prince Harry offered it to him, he said: “I’m not going to be the godfather, I promise you that.

“I’m fairly sure,” he added.

Catch-22 starts tomorrow at 9pm on Channel 4.
