Royal Ascot 2019: Day two racegoer commands attention in eye-popping display

Royal Ascot 2019 started yesterday and guests have battled the rain to turn up for day two. The event has been attended by members of the Royal Family and members of the public alike and most guests will put on their best outfits. One woman turned heads as she turned up in a gigantic pink and silver hat. She also wore a matching fitted pink and metallic dress with diamante detailing.

Many guests chose to wear light pastel colours and white as they turned up for the event and some were more daring by picking bold colours.

Royal Ascot is known for having a strict dress code, and women are encouraged to wear dresses which finish just above the knee or longer and wear a hat on their heads.

One woman made sure to take this dress code on board as she wore a gigantic pink hat which fanned out and covered her body, ensuring she was fully protected against any weather.

The fuchsia hat had silver diamante strings around it and had a large hot pink bow on top which resembled a flower.

The racegoer wore a pink fitted mermaid style dress which had sheer pink detailing which flared out at the bottom.

On her dress, which cut off just above the knee, there was a similar silver string crossover pattern which wrapped around her body.

The outfit had a high neck which was held together by a silver chain and had a revealing cut out feature underneath.

Preparing for the weather, the guest styled this with a metallic jacket which cropped just above her waist.

In her hand, she carried a small studded bag and matched this with with a pair of silver open toe high-heeled shoes.

As guests arrived at the event, many carried umbrellas to protect them from the grey weather conditions.

Women turned out in their finest attire and supermodel, Jodie Kidd, opted for a white dress with a multicoloured hat.

Helen Flanagan opted for a white trouser suit with a lace camisole top underneath.

The Queen and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, both turned up for day two of the races wearing blue coats.

The Queen gave her outfit a smash of colour and included a band of blue white and purple flowers around the top of her hat.

Camilla opted for a classic pale blue hat which matched her knee length jacket.
