The First Lady’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham is the favourite to be US President Donald Trump’s new press secretary. The move comes after Sarah Sanders announced she would be leaving the role to return home to Arkansas. Principal deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley is also under consideration for the role, according to the Washington Examiner.
According to the paper, Trump’s top criteria for the role is that the replacement has to be a woman.
A source said: “When he says he wants a woman, he wants a woman.”
While a former Trump aide added: “The President really wants to have a woman fill this role.”
A third source claimed: “I’ve heard is that Stephanie is open to the position.”

According to BetOnline.ag, Ms Grisham has 7/4 odds of becoming the next press secretary.
Ms Grisham has worked for Melania since she opened office in the East Wing in 2016.
Melania is “constantly in touch” with Ms Grisham according to CNN.
She has fiercely defended the First Lady from “media bias”.
The news comes after Melania introduced Trump at a MAGA rally yesterday as he launched his re-election campaign.
Mrs Trump delivered a touching tribute to her husband during the launch of his 2020 Presidential campaign in Florida.
The First Lady stunned in yellow as she paid tribute to the President for the work he has done for the country over the last two years while also stating his “love for the US”.
During her address, Melania said how “excited” she is to be in office for another term.
