Love Island 2019 continues tonight on ITV2 and will pick up from last night’s dramatic double dumping (June 18). Maura Higgins is one of two single girls left in the villa but she has her eyes on model Tom Walker. Maura has always described herself as a relationship girl and it turns out she may have actually been engaged before she rose to fame on Love Island.
Was Love Island’s Maura engaged?
Yes, according to an inside source, Love Island’s Maura Higgins was engaged before she entered Love Island.
Maura’s account on shopping app Depop even lists her as “engaged”.
In a post that was shared three years ago on Instagram, her Depop page read: “25, Irish, Model, Hairstylist, Engaged”.
A picture of her in a blue pastel coloured dress also showed her wearing an engagement ring.
Maura, aged 28, had been in a relationship with her fiancé for nine years before she appeared on Love Island.
WILL JOE RETURN TO THE VILLA?
The couple reportedly broke up two years ago after a source told MailOnline that James was not “willing to commit” to marrying Maura.
The inside source said: “He didn’t want to be tied down by children so they broke up. You can hardly blame Maura for wanting to take things to the next stage. To be with someone for nine years and not walk down the aisle is an awfully long time.”
The source added: “James hasn’t moved on at all and hasn’t met anyone else. He still holds a candle to Maura and I think he regrets not being willing to commit.“
Following their split, Maura dated TV director Paul Caslin for a short while, before splitting in November last year.

According to MailOnline, Maura’s ex-fiance is James Finnegan.
Finnegan is from Ireland and works as a car mechanic.
The pair are believed to have met when she was 16-years-old in Ballymohan, Ireland.
They got engaged in 2013 when Maura was 23-years-old.

Maura has caused quite a stir since she entered the Love Island villa last week.
She caused trouble amongst the girls after going on a date with Amber Gill’s love interest Michael Griffiths.
Bridges were burned pretty early on between her and Molly-Mae Hague after Maura tried to seduce Tommy Fury.
Scenes showed Maura trying to kiss Tommy – which he rejected – and asking him if he wanted to get “frisky” under the sheets.
In the end, Tommy chose to recouple with Molly-Mae, which left Maura at risk of being dumped from the villa.
However, Maura was saved when two new boys entered the villa – Jordan Hames and Tom Walker.
Maura declared her attraction and feelings for Tom, aged 29, pretty early on.
Maura was left fuming when Tom said he was also interested in Elma Pazar, who was dumped from the villa last night in a huge twist which saw her and Joe Garratt leave the villa for good.
Will Tom want to couple up with Maura? Viewers will have to wait and see what Maura does next.
