The pair were due to clash yesterday lunchtime but all action was postponed on Tuesday because of the weather.
Evans and Wawrinka were moved to a later slot today and they again fell foul of the rain.
No 7 seed Wawrinka made a bright start to the match, breaking early to race into a 3-0 lead in just seven minutes.
The Swiss star battled to a 5-3 advantage and was about to serve for the set when the umpire called the players off court.
A number of slips had occurred during the match, including one major scare for Evans, who needed physio treatment for a twisted knee.
Wawrinka also hit the deck twice as the slippery grass got to a stage which was unplayable.
The covers were quickly pulled over Centre Court as the players headed indoors.
Queen’s Club have confirmed there will be no play before 3.30pm but a later update pushed that time back a further half hour.
The weather forecast predicts it may be closer to 5pm before play resumes.
Evans was on a 10-match winning run heading into his opening match at Queen’s and was confident of getting a positive result.
“He’s obviously a great player,” Evans said.
“You know, he’ll be just as confident as I am going into that match, which I think leads to a pretty good matchup tomorrow when we play.
“I think it will be a good match to watch, and hopefully I can win.”
