WWE RAW PREVIEW: Brock Lesnar status, Stomping Grounds update, top SmackDown star returns

Brock Lesnar to referee?

Universal Champion Seth Rollins will put his title on the line against Baron Corbin at Stomping Grounds this Sunday at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.

Rollins retained the belt at WWE Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia where he defeated Corbin, who blamed his loss to referee John Cone’s officiating and thus has been granted the right to choose his own Special Guest Referee for his rematch that he will announce tonight.

WWE stated that the favourites for that role are Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar failed to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on the Universal Champion at Super ShowDown and his advocate Paul Heyman hinted that his is looking for revenge.

Rollins also got the better of Owens and Zayn last week on RAW and it doesn’t seem like he is done with the daunting duo just yet.

Fatal 5-Way

The Miz hosted another edition of his talkshow Miz TV last week with US Champion Samoa Joe as his guest.

However, Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Cesaro and Bobby Lashley crashed the show to stake their claim for the star-spangled title.

It was later announced that all four superstars along with Miz will battle in a No1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way Match tonight on RAW and the winner will challenge Samoa Joe for the US Championship at Stomping Grounds.

Daniel Bryan appearance

Daniel Bryan is set to appear tonight on RAW as part of the Wild Card Rule that allows up to four superstars to cross over to different brands every week.

The reason behind Bryan’s return to RAW is unknown at the moment but he could be set for big plans.

The five-time world champion competes on SmackDown as one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions along with Rowan.

Bray Wyatt debut?

Bray Wyatt has taken the WWE Universe by storm ever since revealing his new character after WrestleMania 35.

Wyatt has released a series of vignettes showing him hosting the dark and eerie kids’ show Firefly Fun House where he is joined by disturbing puppets and sometimes turns into his monstrous alter ego The Fiend.

Rumours suggest that The Eater of Worlds will be at the Staples Center tonight and could even make his first appearance since adopting his new gimmick.
