Man Utd transfer news: Neymar bid may be launched if Paul Pogba joins Real Madrid

Manchester United star Pogba could leave the club this summer while, over in Paris, Neymar’s future is up in the air.

PSG are reportedly ready to cut ties with the Brazil international, just two years after forking out a massive £200million to sign him from Barcelona.

While Neymar has shown flashes of his ability, the 27-year-old has been viewed as a disappointment due to the Ligue 1 giants’ failure to win the Champions League.

PSG are unhappy with his off-field antics, too, while manager Thomas Tuchel wants less egos in the dressing room.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been considered frontrunners in the race to sign the Brazil international.

But Catlan outlet Sport have named Manchester United as among the potential destinations.

It is claimed the Red Devils may move for the Samba star if Pogba departs for Real Madrid.

The Red Devils would need a marketable talisman should the World Cup winner jump ship.

And Neymar, with his reputation as a superstar, would certainly fit the bill.

United are adamant Pogba is going nowhere this summer – but the board have been left unhappy with comments made on a Adidas promotional tour of Tokyo.

Speaking there, he said: “For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.

“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well, I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.

“I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

Speaking earlier this month, meanwhile, Rivaldo urged Barcelona to beat the likes of United and Real to Neymar.

“If I could choose one player to sign for Barcelona this summer it would be Neymar,” he told Betfair.

“The fans already know what he can do, he proved his value to the club last time he was there and he combines nicely with Messi and Suarez.

“He’s also a good alternative to lead the attack when Messi isn’t available.

“Griezmann is a great player but signing him would be more of a gamble, as he’s never played at Barcelona or with Messi and Suarez.”
