Man Utd star Paul Pogba makes transfer revelation in Tokyo as Real Madrid prepare bid

Pogba’s future at Manchester United has been in doubt for several months.

The midfielder revealed in March while on international duty with France that it would be a dream to play for Real Madrid and their manager Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane has made no secret of the fact that he is a fan of Pogba and would love him in his team.

Pogba’s former club Juventus are also keen on re-signing the 26-year-old, with reports saying they met with United chiefs earlier this week to discuss a potential move.

And now Paul Pogba has stated he would welcome a move away from Old Trafford.

He made the revelation while speaking to reporters in Tokyo on Sunday.

“Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well,” Pogba told reporters.

“For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.

“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

“I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

Pogba cost Manchester United a then world-record fee of £89million in the summer of 2016.

However, his time at the club has been littered with controversy.

He fell out with former manager Jose Mourinho before the Portuguese was sacked in December 2018.

Pogba’s form initially improved dramatically under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He registered his best season statistically in the Premier League, scoring 13 goals and contributing nine assists.

However, like United, he fell away towards the end of the campaign.

Pogba had an altercation with some United fans at Old Trafford following the 2-0 final day defeat to relegated Cardiff.

And now it appears his time at the club could be coming to an end.
