Galaxy S9 UPGRADED – Samsung fans get big new feature as phone dropped to lower price

The new Galaxy S10 might be the phone everyone is talking about but Samsung hasn’t forgotten about its Galaxy S9 owners.

This older flagship went on sale last year but the Korean firm has just pushed out a big software update which brings an impressive new feature to this device.

The upgrade, which is being rolled out across the globe right now, adds a dedicated Night Mode to the S9’s camera which means this phone should perform far better when taking photos in tricky lighting conditions.

Similar to the Night Sight mode found on Google’s Pixel, this option boosts the brightness in images without using the flash.

This bonus feature was recently added to the new Galaxy S10 so it’s nice seeing Samsung also bringing improvements to the Galaxy S9 as well.

If you own an S9 then it’s worth heading to Settings > System update to check if the upgrade is available on your device.

Samsung has released this change at a time when the S9 has never been cheaper to own

In fact, you can currently pick up this smartphone for under £450 which makes it a bit of a bargain and one of the lowest prices comes via Amazon.

The online retailer has been slowly reducing the cost of the S9 but fans now buy one for just £439 – a saving of over £300.

The model on offer is the Coral Blue version with 64GB of memory.

Other colours such as Lilac Purple and Midnight Black are available but do come with a slightly higher price.

Along with Amazon cutting prices, John Lewis is also selling the S9 for £499 and Debenhams Plus also have this device in stock at a similar price.

As a quick reminder, the Galaxy S9 includes a 5.8-inch curved screen, fast processor and 12-megapixel rear camera.

There’s also a rear fingerprint scanner, water-resistant design and wireless charging which can boost the battery without needing to go near a plug.

If you want to know more about the S9 you can read our full review here but in summary, we said: “There’s no question that the S9 is a contender for smartphone of the year.

“With its stunning curved design, it still looks sublime and the display is, without doubt, one of the best you’ll find on a phone.

“This new flagship also offers a slick experience with a processor that’s powerful enough to act as your home PC.”
