The Voice Kids: Viewers in tears over nine-year-old's 'amazing' Peter Pan performance

The Voice Kids UK kicked off its second round of auditions this evening and there was performance in particular that led to viewers watching at home breaking down in tears.

Nine-year-old Kiera wowed coaches will.i.am, Jessie J, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones with her rendition of song from the Peter Pan soundtrack.

After the impressive performance Pixie exclaimed: “I have one word for that performance… magical,” and Jessie added: “I’m so grateful that I am here to hear your first performance.”

Viewers watching at home were taken aback by the young girl’s voice and took to Twitter to comment.

One emotional viewer tweeted: “When you’re sat alone at home on a Saturday night crying at #TheVoiceKidsUK!”

“I just can’t watch talent programmes without crying that girl who sang the song from Peter Pan I cant cope man I’m in bits #TheVoiceKidsUK,” added another.

A third wrote: “Jeez this #TheVoiceKidsUK malarkey has got me in a right tizzy,” and another said: “Oh my how amazing and totally cute is Kiera #TheVoiceKidsUK.”

@thevoicekidsuk Wow Kiera singing finding Neverland got me crying #TheVoiceKidsUk,” remarked a fourth.

“How do people keep dry eyes during #TheVoiceKidsUk ?! Literally sooo cute,” asked a sixth.

Meanwhile, it looks like Danny Jones will miss out on taking the trophy this year after just one week.

The winning coach of the Voice Kids 2019 looks set to be will.i.am followed close behind by Jessie J.

Bookmakers have revealed the Black Eyed Peas star is favourite to win this year’s series with odds of 6/4 while Danny could miss out with odds of 4/1.

With only one round of auditions aired Jessie and will.i.am have so far enlisted this year’s biggest contenders.

Alfie and Ava are favourite to win with odds of 2/1 and were selected by Will.

Charley Jones who has odds of 3/1 of winning this year’s competition joined Jessie’s team.

A spokesperson for Coral bookmakers, Harry Aitkenhead, said: “Alfie and Ava have definitely been the most impressive so far in our book and we make them the early favourites to win The Voice Kids this year.

“Charley comes next in the betting and she’ll be hoping her decision to join Jessie’s team pays dividends.”

In other The Voice Kids news, Emma Willis broke down after one emotional performance last week.

Singing an original song, Sam wowed all four coaches and Emma.

Before he took to the stage it was revealed his mum had died only 15 months ago of Leukaemia and host Emma broke down in tears as she praised the 13-year-old’s voice.
