Men in Black International: Do Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones cameo?

Between 1997 and 2012, Smith and Jones played Agents J and K in the first three Men in Black movies. Now the franchise has had a reboot with a side-quel set in the same universe, but starring Hemsworth and Thompson as Agents H and M. Despite the focus being on the Thor Ragnarok pair, do the two original stars feature in Men in Black: International? In a sense, yes.

In the London branch of the Men in Black, there are a couple of paintings of agents saving the world.

One is of H and High T in Paris from the beginning of the movie and the other shows J and K fighting Edgar the Bug in the first Men in Black movie.

It’s not exactly a full-bodied cameo from Smith and Jones, but at least its a decent Easter Egg.

In fact, the shot was seen in one of the Men in Black: International trailers.

Director F Gary Gray alluded to this “cameo” earlier this year.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he said: “We went into the project knowing the deep affection we and the fans have for Will and Tommy.

“We’re not replacing them, simply adding to their team.”

The outlet later wrote: “As for cameos by certain Earth-born alumni from past instalments? Don’t hold your breath — but okay, maybe go ahead and put it on standby.”

Similarly Jurassic Park side-quel Jurassic World didn’t feature that franchise’s original cast, however, Jeff Goldblum cameoed in the sequel Fallen Kingdom.

If Men in Black: International gets a sequel, there’s always the possibility that Agents J and K could return to team up with H and M.

Although, the new movie has had some pretty poor reviews, so fans shouldn’t get too excited.

Men in Black: International is out now.
