Spider-Man Far From Home box office: The STAGGERING predictions for Spider-Man sequel

Spider-Man Far From Home picks up in the direct aftermath of Avengers: Endgame. With tears still fresh in fans’ minds, Far From Home has to balance the care-free Spidey attitude with a new sense of hopelessness. Three weeks remain before the movie hits cinemas but with the success of Endgame, Far From Home has big shoes to fill.

How much will Spider-Man Far From Home make at the box office?

SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME: WHEN IS IT OUT AND CAN YOU BUY TICKETS?

“Of course, Far From Home is skewing more male, with older females over 25 the lower demo — but even that is super strong, we hear.

“The first Spider-Man: Homecoming, a team-up with Sony and Disney’s MCU characters, opened to $117m over the July 7 to 9, 2017 weekend, and reps Sony’s second-highest domestic opening of all-time, behind 2007’s Spider-Man 3 ($151.1m).”

Spider-Man Far From Home has already performed well with what little material is out there.

The second trailer for the movie drew Sony 135.2 million global views in 24 hours (from both paid promotions and organic posts).

Many believe the likely box office success of Spider-Man: Far From Home is down to what is now called The Endgame Effect.

Deadline explained: “Exhibitors tell us that advance ticket sales for Far From Home are through the roof, and more proof it’s going to pop.”

This is not just in terms of ticket sales but also social media buzz.

SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME: WHO IS JAKE GYLLENHAAL IN FAR FROM HOME?

“So, fans and summer moviegoers alike are looking to this movie co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal as the last tease or wrap-up from Avengers: Endgame – as Far From Home certainly shares an Endgame storyline – before the next MCU phase begins.

“With Far From Home‘s SMU [social media units] already exceeding opening weekend levels for the Superhero genre, look for this title to have an extremely successful domestic run.”

In comparison to Sony’s previous Spider-Man outing, the predictions are much higher.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opened to £92.3m ($117m) over the same July 7-9, 2017 weekend.

Spider-Man Far From Home is out in cinemas on July 2, 2019.
