PS Plus Free Games news and great PS4 PlayStation Store update

There’s been a lot of news this week concerning games that will require a PS Plus subscription in 2019 and beyond.

And there are also new PS4 free games to try out for a limited period, following several new reveals during E3 2019.

So fans may be forgiven for missing a brand new PlayStation Store sale going on in Europe right now.

A wave of new deals have hit the PSN this week, including some top-rated PlayStation 4 games worth checking out.

These new deals will be available until June 26 and it wouldn’t be surprising to see additional discounts announced before it ends.

“Whether you want to travel the world as a master assassin or duke it out as colourful anime characters – you’re sure to find something to enjoy in this week’s PlayStation Store promotions,” a message from Sony reads.

“Save up to 70% on action-packed titles including Hitman 2, Dark Souls III, Jump Force, Persona 5 and more until 26th June.”

As mentioned above, there are some top discounts available right now on the PlayStation Store, with a couple of different promotions running alongside each other.

These include the new PS4 game deals mentioned above, as well as the existing Days of Play promotion and PlayStation Plus exclusive discounts.

The PS Plus exclusive Discounts include a lot of special digital editions, like the Persona 5: Ultimate Edition, which has dropped from 74.99 to 24.99.

There’s plenty of choices to be had on the Store right now, and there are some other great perks worth mentioning too.

Ubisoft is giving fans the chance to try out one of their latest game launches for free on PS4.

The game is only free-to-play for the duration of the weekend, but that’s still plenty of time to put it through its paces.

“Free Weekend starts tomorrow!” reads a Ubisoft tweet. “Play the Division 2 for free from June 13th to June 16th.”

If you live in the UK, The Division 2 free weekend has already started and will end at 7.59am BST on Monday, June 17.

Downloading the free trial is just a matter of visiting the PSN Store page for The Division 2 Trial.

It should also be noted that the same Division 2 limited-time demo is also available on Xbox One and PC during the same period.

And for those who may have forgotten about them, there is still time to download and claim the June 2019 PS Plus games.

These include Sonic Mania and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which comes with a special bonus.

To celebrate the launch of Borderlands 3 later this year, Gearbox Software has released a free DLC pack for Borderlands 2.

It helps bridge the gap between the two games and comes years after the original Borderlands 2 release.

Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary is the fifth campaign DLC for Borderlands 2, adding new areas to explore, new enemies and bosses to battle, as well as a new level cap to hit.

The new Borderlands 2 DLC can be found on the PlayStation Store and is free to download until July 8, 2019.
