Coronation Street spoilers: Michael Bailey star hints he’s the reason for Michelle’s exit?

Coronation Street fans have recently seen a new family arrive in Weatherfield and they have already caused quite a stir among the residents.

In recent scenes, The Baileys; mother Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw), father Edison (Trevor Michael Georges), and sons Michael (Ryan Russell) and James Bailey (Nathan Graham) moved into Number 3.

Today, the soap’s newest cast members joined ITV’s This Morning, where they spoke about their upcoming storylines and teased the potential reason why Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) is leaving.

In upcoming episodes, Michael is going to land himself a date with the Bistro owner and Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were keen to find out how it goes.

Discussing his character’s need for success, Holly probed: “Success with Michelle?” And actor Ryan replied: “He’s trying, he’s a fighter.”

“Kym Marsh is leaving isn’t she?” Phillip then interjected and Ryan confirmed: “Yes.”

“So there’s no luck there mate!” Phillip continued and Holly added: “But it’s nothing to do with your character?”

“We’ll see, we’ll see,” Ryan replied. Does his noncommittal answer suggest Michael is involved in Michelle’s departure?

The cast also spoke about their characters being the first black family on the Street.

Lorna said: “It’s incredible we’re still discussing this whole black family thing, it’s making news across the pond. It’s a massive thing.”

Trevor added: “There have been black scenarios, [but] this [is a] whole sort of new predation of a new family on the Street,” and Holly responded: “Long may they remain.”

It comes after an official upcoming soap spoiler involving the Baileys has been revealed.

Ken Barlow (William Roache) has recently met his new neighbour, but things didn’t get off to the best start.

Having made a lot of noise removing all of the contents of the house into a skip, Aggie and her boys decide to really wind Ken and the Barlows up.

After smashing through the wrong wall and making Number 1 and Number 3’s living rooms integrated, Aggie decides to wind Claudia Colby (Rula Lenska) up by turning on every power tool in their possession.

But Claudia, armed with Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), fights back with violins.

Will the two ladies put their differences aside and become friends?

Elsewhere in Corrie, there is the suggestion Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) could be about to betray David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd).

With the drama amongst the Platt family growing tenser by the second, could Shona’s killer son Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison) return and put a stop to it all?

Coronation Street returns tomorrow night at 7.30pm on ITV.
