BT and Virgin Media face more competition with TalkTalk announcing a broadband speed boost.
The UK firm is now promising customer faster internet connections without paying a higher price.
In fact, users can access speeds of up to 38Mbps for £22.45 per month or upgrade things to over 66Mbps for £24.95 per month.
TalkTalk is promising a free setup and no price increases for 18 months.
So is this deal really any good?
TalkTalk has been offering these lower prices for a while but the speeds customers received in the past were slightly slower.
This extra boost certainly makes the offer more appealing and TalkTalk remains cheaper than some of its biggest rivals.
For example, BT is offering its 36Mbps Fibre Essential plan for £31.99 per month and the 67Mbps Superfast Fibre is currently £39.99 per month.
Virgin Media’s prices are also slightly higher with the firm offering its M50 Fibre which brings average speeds of 54Mbps to your home, for £28 per month.
There’s also the option to get 100Mbps speeds from Virgin for £33 per month.
So there’s clearly plenty to like about TalkTalk’s offer but before you sign up it’s worth noting that the firm didn’t perform well in a recent survey.
According to Which?, TalkTalk and Sky came out bottom of the rankings for satisfaction with them earning only a 50 per cent customer satisfaction score.
TalkTalk was panned for the quality of its customer service and tech support and failed to score well in any category, including value for money.
The survey suggests that TalkTalk customers were the most likely to suffer from very slow speeds and frequent connection dropouts in the last 12 months.
Defending itself, a TalkTalk spokesperson said: “While these results are disappointing, we are already seeing more customers than ever staying with us as we continue rolling out major service improvements.”
