Apex Legends update notes for PS4 and Xbox today, following Season 2 release latest

Developers Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that a new server patch is being released later this week.

No exact timing has been provided regarding when it will arrive, however, new Apex Legends update notes are set to be shared later today.

Respawn revealed as much yesterday, confirming some of their plans in advance of the new changes.

The dev team has also flagged other additions that have been made to the game that doesn’t require downtime.

“In an attempt to curb behaviour of camping outside the circle to wait out the match and get Top 5 in the Apex Elite Queue, we’re trying increasing the damage caused by being outside the circle in the Apex Elite Queue only,” the Respawn message explains.

“The first circle now does 15% damage per tick, Second circle now does 20% damage per tick, and remaining circles now do 25% damage per tick.”

These changes will be followed by an Apex Legends server patch, which is getting official notes released for it.

This is expected to happen today, but there is a chance things will be delayed until later this week.

These changes will be in place long before the start of Season 2, which is scheduled to begin in early July.

Respawn has confirmed that Apex Season 2 will introduce an electrifying new Legend, a ranked mode, and a fresh Battle Pass complete with daily and weekly challenges.

The most significant addition will be Natalie “Wattson” Paquette who can use high-voltage barriers and a pylon that blocks incoming ordinance to help control the flow of the battle.

Here’s more from EA, who revealed this week: “Season 2 also sees the debut of a brand new mode, Ranked 1.0.

“In Ranked, players will be matched by skill as they compete to reach the top of six individual tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Apex Predator), earning exclusive cosmetics and rewards at the end of each season based on where they place.

“With Season 2 comes a new and improved Battle Pass, full of fresh rewards, special challenges, even more Legendary skins, the ability to earn crafting metal, three entirely new content categories, and more.

“That’s just some of what fans can expect in this season’s Battle Pass, with further details coming closer to the launch of Season 2.

“Players will also find a new weapon, the L-STAR, making its debut in Season 2.

“This energy machine gun hits hard with hefty projectiles that pack a serious punch, but this power comes with a price – sustained fire causes the L-STAR to overheat and briefly stop working, so you’ll have to master its rhythm to make full use of it.”

More Apex Legends Season 2 news is expected to be released by Respawn after E3 2019 ends and we get closer to the launch of the new Battle Pass.
