Jason Roy KNOCKS DOWN umpire as England batsman scores century in Cricket World Cup

Roy needed just 92 balls to score his ninth ODI century with England looking to bounce back from defeat against Pakistan.

But it wasn’t without drama for Roy as he clattered umpire Wilson in Cardiff.

Roy, on 96, knocked what appeared to be an easy single into the deep but the Bangladesh fielder missed the ball.

As the batsman was watching the ball go to the rope, so was umpire Wilson.

And the two collided with Wilson knocked heavily to the ground.

He hit his head on the turf but returned to his feet moments later, with Roy’s help.

The England batsman then raised his bat to celebrate a wonderful century.

Roy was eventually out for 153 but captain Eoin Morgan would have been pleased.

The skipper had said: “I think it’s [spin] just another challenge that the two openers have been presented with.

“I’m sure that they will kick on. It’s like anything, when the ball swings, it’s a new challenge.

“Guys bowl short, it’s a new challenge.

“Mystery spin, it’s a new challenge. [But] Bangladesh will open with spin, definitely.”
