Tommy Fury: Love Island 2019 star in MAJOR gaffe over brother Tyson Fury

Tommy Fury, 20, is currently getting plenty of attention on Love Island 2019. Having surprised his fellow contestants with the information he is the brother of 30-year-old boxing legend Tyson Fury earlier this week, he once again spoke about his famous sibling during last night’s episode. In the process of flirting with Lucie Donlan, 21, Tommy said: “I’m not saying that because he’s my brother and that, but I think he’s the best in the word and from what he’s come through and now he’s a world champion. I think that’s why my mindset is so strong,” he added.

TOMMY FURY: WHAT DOES LOVE ISLAND 2019 STAR REALLY THINK OF BROTHER TYSON FURY?

“I think that if I put my mind to anything, I can do it and I believe in myself.”

Viewers were quick to correct Tommy on his claim Tyson is world champion, with one tweeting: “Tommy said Tyson Fury is world champ lol wtf.”(sic)

“Tommy your brother Tyson Fury is not world champion at the moment bro,” another observed, while a third added: “Tommy reckons Tyson Fury’s a world champion.

“He’s already taken one too many blows to the head.”

Although Tyson isn’t a current world champion, he is considered the Lineal Heavyweight Champion after beating Wladimir Klitschko, 43, back in 2015.

He was later stripped of his title and belts after testing positive for a banned steroid — which he claimed was due to eating uncastrated wild boar.

Meanwhile, his Love Island star sibling Tommy is an amateur boxer who fights in the light-heavyweight category.

So far in his career, the younger Fury brother has had 12 amateur contests.

On the ITV2 dating show, he made a splash after arriving late and choosing to split up Joe Garratt, 22, and Lucie in order to couple up with the sexy surfer.

However, at the end of last night’s episode, Tommy faced more drama when new arrival Molly-Mae Hague, 20, entered the villa, with the public voting for the boxer to be the one to join her on a steamy hot tub date before she’d even met the rest of the islanders.

Tonight, viewers will see Tommy meet Molly-Mae in the Hideaway, where they hit it off during a flirtatious spell together.

The hunky star will be left slightly put out when the blonde beauty eventually receives a text telling her she has to send him back to the others and inform another boy of her choice that she wants to go on a date with them next.

When Tommy returns to the group, he announces: “She’s taking another date and guess who she wants?

“Curtis… you’re up. Go get yourself ready, bro.”

With Molly-Mae already causing waves in the villa by choosing Lucie’s current partner Tommy and 26-year-old Amy Hart’s new beau Curtis Pritchard, 23, for her dates, what will happen in tonight’s recoupling?

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
