'Matthijs de Ligt to Man Utd confirmed' – Fans all say the same thing after England howler

The Ajax sensation has been heavily linked with a move to United or Barcelona this summer.

However, reports today claimed De Ligt, 19, could end up at PSG next season.

De Ligt was in action for Holland against England in their Nations League showdown on Thursday night.

However, the defender had a horrible first half, fouling Marcus Rashford to give away a penalty.

United star Rashford slotted home to put Gareth Southgate’s side ahead.

And fans took to social media following De Ligt’s error, claiming he’s ‘perfect’ for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s struggling United side.

One fan said on Twitter: “De ligt would fit right in at united.”

Another added: “De Ligt making terrible mistakes. Looks like he’s got United in him already.”

“De Ligt fouling Rashford and giving away a penalty. De Ligt to United confirmed. LOL,” said another fan.

A fellow supporter said: “De Ligt defending like a united defender there.”

“De Ligt giving away penalties, he’s got the United DNA get him in now,” said another.

“De ligt looks like a united player already with that tackle,” a fellow United fan said.

United boss Solskjaer confirmed before the end of the season that the club have held talks about summer transfers.

“Of course, we’ve been discussing how to move the club forward,” Solskjaer said.

“That doesn’t mean we’ve said x amount of money or x amount of players.

“We’ve sat down and discussed, but now it’s easier to be clear about what we need to do because we will do some business this summer.”
