The Walking Dead season 10 spoilers: Rick Grimes death CONFIRMED after comics twist?

Rick (played by Andrew Lincoln) exited The Walking Dead midseason season nine in order to work on the planned films based on the AMC series.

He was taken off in a helicopter in the season and his destination was left ambiguous.

Fans have mourned his departure from the show and have been speculating when he will return in a capacity.

However, a clue has emerged suggesting they will have more to mourn in the future.

The show is based on the comics and although it does deviate sometimes, the storylines are generally followed or altered slightly.

Now, issue 192 of the comic series has revealed Rick’s death in tragic circumstances.

In the previous issue, Rick was shot in the chest by Sebastian, whose mother Pamela Milton had been at war with Rick.

Commonwealth leader Pamela had instructed her army to attack Rick’s people.

Before the attack went too far, Rick managed to stop it and removed Pamela from power.

This provoked Sebastian to avenge his mother and attacked Rick at night.

The issue left the possibility of Rick’s death open and the latest issue then confirmed his demise.

Rick’s son Carl Grimes is devastated and struggles to cope with the loss.

Whether the TV series goes down the same route is yet to be known, given that Carl (played by Chandler Riggs) has already died in the show.

Fans were devastated by the comic book death, so imagine what they would be like if he died on the hit TV show.

One Twitter fan said: “Come home to the newest Walking Dead issue, wasn’t ready. RIP Rick Grimes.”

Another added: “I feel like I lost a relative this morning. RIP Rick Grimes.”

Meanwhile, Fear the Walking Dead season five aired on Sunday and gave a huge hint as to Rick’s fate in The Walking Dead.

The premiere introduced the new nuclear walkers and it gave away a significant clue as to what happened to Rick.

These walkers appear to be the ones that took Rick away in the helicopter in season nine of The Walking Dead.

However, another crossover seems unlikely after Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Morgan Jones (Lennie James) recently moved from The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead season 10 premieres on AMC and FOX in October 2019.
