Lucie Donlan, 21, was stolen away from fellow Love Island contestant Joe Garratt, 22, by Tommy Fury, 20, during last night’s dramatic recoupling. However, the professional surfer’s ex-boyfriend appears to resemble her “type on paper” more than either of her current love interests from the villa. The reality star dated Spanish tattoo artist Jaime Pombo for a year after meeting him in Fuerteventura in 2017. The former couple shared common interests as they met at a surf camp and went on to embark on a long distance relationship.
Jaime closely matches up with Lucie’s ideal type, whom she described on the ITV2 programme as a “dude” with “long blonde hair”.
The pair shared matching wavy locks and bonded at the month-long camp experience.
Following her split from Jaime, Lucie moved on to another blonde when she dated former Islander and model Charlie Frederick.
During an interview with Cosmopolitan, the Cornwall native opened up about her ex.
She divulged: “The last guy I was with was Charlie [Frederick] from last year’s Love Island.
“We got together a few weeks after he came out of the villa.”
Lucie then explained why her romance with the star didn’t work out, adding: “Yeah, we’d definitely still speak to each other if we saw each other but I don’t think we match dating-wise and he’s a little bit old for me so we want different things.
“If I see him, I’ll speak to him but it kind of fizzled out because he lived where he lived and I live where I live.
“We had some really nice times together so it’s a shame that it ended really.”
Charlie also spoke about Lucie before she entered the villa and appeared to suggest she may have the wrong “intentions”.
The hunk told the Daily Mail: “[She’s] most definitely not looking for love! She’s only 21. I hope she’s going in there with the right intentions.
“She’ll get a couple of Instagram followers on the way, if you know what I mean. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do to get the Z-list fame.”
Lucie is currently coupled up with Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy, in spite of her apparent feelings for catering company owner Joe.
Before the recoupling, she admitted to Joe: “Out of everybody, we’re the couple that are getting on the most.”
However, boxer Tommy announced his decision to couple up with Lucie as the contestants sat together around the fire pit.
The athlete referred to Lucie as “absolutely gorgeous” and revealed he was “excited” to get to know her.
