Fortnite DOWNTIME for update 9.20 announced for June 6

Changes are coming to Fortnite this week, meaning more downtime for servers and a new update to download.

Fans have grown used to Epic Games taking servers offline on Wednesdays, something that didn’t happen this week.

Instead, the development team have moved their usual schedule by a day, announcing Fortnite downtime for Thursday, June 6.

This will means servers going offline, the game becoming unplayable and a new patch needing to be downloaded.

FORTNITE UPDATE TIME

Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite downtime is set to begin tomorrow morning.

June 6 will see Fortnite Servers go offline at around 9am, BST, with no set time for them to go back online.

Epic Games hasn’t said anything about this patch being bigger than usual, so can probably expect the typical length of downtime.

“Harness the Storm, the v9.20 update releases tomorrow, June 6. Downtime begins at 4 AM ET (0800UTC),” Epic confirmed today.

“Real money purchases will be unavailable 1 hour before downtime begins while we perform additional maintenance.”

During this scheduled maintenance period, players will not be able to play any Battle Royale modes.

However, Epic Games will release patch notes confirming all the big changes from update 9.20.

These will be posted at 9am, BST, and reveal any weapon changes or additional content.

FORTNITE UPDATE 9.20

Fortnite update 9.20 is the next weekly patch being released by Epic Games which will make changes to the game.

Early patch notes suggest that a new item will be added to the game that will have the ability to manipulate the storm in some way.

Little is known about the item outside of its tagline: “Unleash the storm or tame it! The choice is yours!”

Clearly, it has something to do with manipulating the storm, although the extent of its reach and power remains to be seen.

According to the Fortnite Trello page, Epic Games will soon solve a problem with players getting stuck under ramps.

Epic is also investigating an issue with Traps that aren’t visible to players, as this is something that would give players an unfair advantage.

There’s also the chance that Epic Games are making changes to the purchasing system in Fortnite Battle Royale, based on recent comments.

And like usual, fans can expect a wave of new skins to be leaked by data miners following the latest update going live.
