Chris Evans: Virgin Radio host drops Barbara Windsor EastEnders revelation

The pair were discussing the former football manager potentially working at Fulham after Scott Parker was appointed as manager. Harry managed Scott at Tottenham. Chris said: “This reminds of the day on The Big Breakfast, years ago now, when we had Barbara Windsor on.

“We were talking about Eastenders.

“And we had a chat on the air and we said you know you should be running The Queen Vic.

“Anyway, I think about an hour later they called her and the rest is history.”

Barbara would play Peggy Mitchell on the BBC One soap for 22 years.

The former Top Gear presenter added: “Please let history repeat itself right now with Harry and Fulham.”

In the show, Chris and I’m a Celebrity 2018 winner Harry also spoke about the latter’s 51-year marriage to Sandra Harris.

Chris asked: “So 51 years. In The Mirror, bizarrely what they’ve done is they’ve done the Showbiz couples who have made love last.

“So, 51 years Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne – higher or lower than you and Sandra?”

In response, Harry asked: “Doing what?”

Chris told him: “Being together.”

Harry joked: “I thought you said making love!

“I thought definitely higher than them two.”

Harry had earlier told Chris how the couple met: “As a young footballer at West Ham about 17, me and a mate of mine decided to go to a dance at the two puddings pub in Stratford.

“It was all Motown music at the time in the 60s and there were Sandra and her mate.

“Me and my pal, who was a goalkeeper at West Ham, decided to go have a dance with these two good-looking girls across the dance floor.”

Chris Evans Virgin Radio Breakfast Show airs weekdays at 6.30am.
