Warriors injury news: Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant update for NBA Finals Game 3

While the Warriors have arguably the most star-studded roster in NBA history, they’ve been challenged to the max in these NBA Finals due to a host of injuries.

But they battled through adversity in Game 2, despite losing Kevon Looney early before Thompson limped off the court in the fourth quarter.

DeMarcus Cousins has only just returned from injury but there has still been no sign of Durant on the practice court as of yet.

After stealing homecourt in Toronto, the Warriors will be hoping to build on that momentum in Game 3 on Thursday, June 6 2am BST.

Thompson suffered from hamstring tightness in Game 2 and has been working on the court to get back and ready for the first game in Oakland of the 2019 NBA Finals.

And Warriors coach Steve Kerr seems quietly confident the 29-year-old will be back and available to play.

“He (Thompson) says he’s feeling well and that he’s feeling a lot better today than he did yesterday,” Kerr said.

“He thinks he will be ready to go, but as I said the other night, Klay is always going to say he’s ready to go.

“What we will have to determine is whether that’s a risk if he plays. Are we risking anything?

“If the training staff feels good about his ability to go out there and play without making things worse then he’ll play.”

“If there is a risk, we will give him the next couple days to heal.”

But while Thompson is listed as questionable for Game 3, the Warriors will once again be without Durant.

“Kevin is going to get on the floor at the practice facility later today,” Kerr added.

“He did not get on the floor here. He was here for our film session and our treatment.

“He’s out for tomorrow but improving.”

Golden State will also be without Kevon Looney, who suffered a non-displaced cartilage fracture on the right side of his rib cage in the Game 2 win.
