Real Madrid complete summer signing of Luka Jovic and eye Eden Hazard Chelsea deal next

Jovic will reportedly cost Real in the region of £52million, with Los Blancos having spent the season scouting the Serbian’s brilliant season in Germany.

The 21-year-old scored 27 goals in 48 appearances for Frankfurt last season, including two goals against Premier League side Chelsea in the Europa League.

“Real Madrid CF and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed to the transfer of player Luka Jović, pending the medical examination,” a club statement read.

“The player remains linked to the club during the next six seasons, until June 30, 2025.”

The deal should see the start of a major overhaul at Real, as they ready themselves to battle hard for Chelsea man Eden Hazard.

Eden Hazard is expected to join Real within the coming weeks and an announcement could come as soon as this week.

Chelsea were also said to be after Jovic but Real moved quickly on their man as the Blues remain locked from the transfer window thanks to a FIFA ban.

They will be hit even harder when Hazard leaves for the Spanish capital soon.

The west London side are expecting no less than £120m from Real for Hazard, who had his best goalscoring season for Chelsea last term with 21 in all competitions.

He looked to have ended his time at the club with a brace in the Europa League final against Arsenal.

“Yes, I think it’s a goodbye, but in football you never know,” Hazard said after the victory.

“My dream was to play in the Premier League, I did this for seven years, and in the biggest club in the world.

“Now maybe it’s time for a new challenge.

“I told my decision already, I said that two weeks ago, now it just depends on the clubs.

“Both clubs. I’m just waiting, like you wait, the fans wait.”

Real will hope that Jovic can provide the goal-scoring nous they missed last season, following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.

His quick feet, stocky build and lethal finishing has led plenty to believe he can become one of Europe’s most prolific strikers in years to come.
