Trump claims 'NO protests' against UK visit despite THOUSANDS set to take march tomorrow

Some 250,000 protesters are scheduled to march from Trafalgar Square to Downing Street tomorrow and are expected to be joined by a list of Labour MPs, including party leader Jeremy Corbyn. Hundreds of protesters were pictured lining the streets of London on Monday with demonstrations taking place outside Buckingham Palace and at Westminster, where the now famous baby blimp balloon flew in the skies above Parliament.

Several people unfurled banners with Amnesty International stickers emblazoned alongside the phrase “resist Trump’ and “resist racism”.

But Mr Trump has refuted claims of a protest in a Twitter post as his first day in the UK came to a close, tweeting: “London part of the trip is going really well. The Queen and the entire Royal family have been fantastic. The relationship with the United Kingdom is very strong.

“Tremendous crowds of well wishers and people that love our country. Haven’t seen any protests yet, but I’m sure the fake news will be working hard to find them.”

In his comment, Mr Trump also confirmed that a “big” trade deal would be possible and that talks had already begun.

The security bill for the three-day state visit is estimated to be in the region of £25 million as security services snub traditions to guarantee the safety of the President.

The Trump’s official welcome was held in the grounds of Buckingham Palace earlier today instead of at the traditional location of Horse Guards Parade.

Hundreds of Metropolitan Police lined The Mall earlier today while streets were closed to members of the public as parts of the capital were put into lockdown.

Mr Trump arrived at Buckingham Palace in his helicopter, Marine One, but his four-tonne limousine ‘the Beast’ was given the green light to transport the President and Melania Trump to Westminster Abbey.

The vehicle is part of a 20-car strong convoy and can withstand bullets, chemical attacks and bombs.

Just before landing, the President took a swipe at London Mayor Sadiq Khan on Twitter, calling him a “stone cold loser” and “nasty” to the UK’s “most important ally”.

Mr Khan swiped back at Mr Trump this evening, posting a video for Elle Magazine stating that the President’s values were the “complete opposite of London’s values”.

The President is in the UK until Wednesday, where he will meet with the Prime Minister and business executives at St James Palace tomorrow before travelling to Portsmouth to attend an event for the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
