Eevee Pokemon Go Evolution name trick is back and includes Leafeon and Glaceon

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that there are now new ways to use the Eevee Evolution name trick in Pokemon Go.

The secret feature was first discovered in 2016 and has slowly been expanded by Niantic.

Now in June 2019, Pokemon Go Trainers have even more ways to evolve their Eevees.

It has now been confirmed that both Leafeon and Glaceon can be evolved by naming them certain phrases.

All the names featured in Pokemon Go as part of the Eevee naming trick come from different parts of the popular franchise.

And these latest names have been pulled from Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, games launched on the Nintendo 3DS.

According to Pokemon Trainers, The Eevee name trick now allows Leafeon to evolve through naming an Eevee Linnea, with the same process working for Glaceon and the name, Rea.

These little features and secrets have proven popular with Trainers, with one writing online: “I love that Niantic continued to give Eevee this fun little Easter Egg; it was pretty well hidden in the Pokémon lore too, but the final names still made sense.”

While another adds: “Last I checked Glaceon is a solid second-tier ice attacker in the pack behind Mamoswine, while Leafeon is basically in the same spot but there are so many a-list grass type attackers that having a second-rate one is much less appealing.”

EEVEE NAMING TRICK FOR POKEMON GO

So to recap, naming your chosen Eevee “Linnea” will guarantee that it will evolve into a Leafeon.

Naming your chosen Eevee “Rea” will guarantee that it will evolve into a Glaceon.

You will also need to have enough Candies available to complete the evolution cycle and it should also mean that you won’t need any special evolutionary items.

It should be noted that this Eevee naming trick only works once and means you will need a Mossy Lure or a Glacial Lure to catch more.

And as Pokemon Go Trainers will already know, there are several other Eevee naming tricks that can be used on Android and iOS.

At the current count, there should be around seven different Eevee evolutions available through the naming trick.

And there is another Eevee evolution missing from the list that will appear alongside the launch of Gen 6. This would be Sylveon, a Fairy-type Pokemon that probably won’t appear in-game until 2020.

For all the others, here’s a list of names needed to unlock the wanted Eevee evolution:

For a Flareon, name the Eevee Pyro.

For a Jolteon, name the Eevee Sparky.

For a Vaporeon, name the Eevee Rainer.

For an Espeon, name the Eevee Sakura.

And if you want an Umbreon, name the Eevee Tamao.
