Piers Morgan: Good Morning Britain host reveals Susanna Reid’s surprising crush ‘Insane’

Piers Morgan, 54, hinted that his Good Morning Britain co-star Susanna Reid, 48, has a “crush” on him and admitted he had “heard the rumours”. Speaking to The Sunday Mirror magazine, the ITV star suggested the “chemistry” the pair share on-screen comes from the fact his co-star his “fancies” him to which she vehemently denies. Susanna told the publication: “Piers would like you to think I fancy him.” To which he replied: “I’ve heard the rumour. I think I started them. But for her to insist to such an insane level that she doesn’t fancy me, suggests she does.”

The brunette beauty, hit back: “I can’t even respond to that.”

The cheeky back and forth between the pair comes after they spoke candidly about their working relationship on the morning programme of Good Morning Britain and their work delving into the lives of serial killers.

Speaking about their time together on the show, Piers referred to their pairing as an “arranged marriage”.

He said: “It’s an arranged marriage without any of the good bits. I just get the nagging.”

Susanna interjected: “Piers’ worst quality is that he will not stop talking, he takes up 95 per cent of the air time. When he starts unravelling on air, I wipe my hands of him.”

The two hosts have worked alongside each other since 2014 as firm fixtures on the ITV show.

The pair’s incredible on-screen chemistry has led GMB to be nominated for two BAFTA awards and most recently is up for Best Daytime Show at the TV Choice Awards.

Meanwhile, Piers took to Twitter to congratulate Liverpool after beating Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid last night.

The avid Arsenal fan uploaded a snap of the Liverpool team celebrating their win, with a quote from the manager Jurgen Klopp.

In view of his 6.65 million followers, he captioned the post: “’I lost the last 6 finals I was in. They were hardly the best days of my life, but they didn’t make me a broken person. For me, life is about trying again & again’ – Jurgen Klopp, a brilliant manager, wonderful character & fantastic role model.

“Congrats to him & Liverpool,” he added.

Fans flocked to comment on the post, as one person said: “As a United fan, you can’t help but love Klopp..this team will be here for a long time….the football Liverpool and City played this season has been top drawer…am I jealous…yes.”

Another person commented: “@piersmorgan The passion he brings to the club is unrivalled by any other, any club in the world would have him as their manager even Arsenal.”

While a third person added: “Well said Piers, that’s the best thing you’ve ever said.”

Meanwhile, both Susanna and Piers shall be returning to Good Morning Britain this week after a week long hiatus over the half-term break.

Good Morning Britain continues tomorrow at 6.30am on ITV.
