Donald Trump brother REVEALED: Sad story of Trump’s brother who died from alcohol problem

Freddy Trump Jr was named after his property magnate father Fred Trump. Freddy was eight years older than Donald Trump and died aged just 43. The US president has previously revealed his big brother’s fatal relationship with alcohol is the reason he doesn’t drink.

Instead of becoming the boss of the multi-million dollar Trump family business, Freddy chose to become an air pilot.

Freddy was eight years older than Donald and in 1981 died aged just 42.

The US president has described his brother as “the life of the party.”

In a candid interview, President Trump described the huge influence Freddy’s tragic death had on his own life.

Mr Trump revealed watching his brother’s descent into alcoholism made him determined never to drink, take drugs or smoke cigarettes.

Donald Trump said: ”He had a profound impact on my life, because you never know where you’re going to end up.

“Fred was a great guy, a handsome person. He was the life of the party. He was a fantastic guy, but he got stuck on alcohol.”

He had previously told Newsweek it was his older brother Freddy who advised him not to drink.

Mr Trump said: “He would tell me, ‘Don’t ever drink. Don’t ever drink’.”

President Trump’s surviving siblings

Donald Trump has three living siblings: two older sisters and a younger brother.

Mr Trump’s oldest sister is Maryanne Trump Barry, 82.

She is an American attorney and a former United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals.

Elizabeth Trump Grau, 77, is a retired banker and is married to film producer James Grau.

Robert, 71, is Donald’s youngest brother.

He also works for the family business, as Donald did.
