Britain’s Got Talent 2019: Lost Voice Guy reveals near mishap with Prince Harry and Meghan

Britain’s Got Talent will be heading into the final and there’s one person who knows exactly what it is like to take part in the show.

Last year, fans crowned Lost Voice Guy, aka Lee Ridley the winner of the 2018 series.

Following a year of incredible success, Lee spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about his triumph and what happened during his Royal Variety Performance.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the benefit last year on behalf of the royal family and since Lee earned himself a spot in the show, he got to perform in front of them.

Speaking about this experience, Lee said he “was very nervous. I think anyone would be nervous to be performing in front of the Royal Family”.

“My main worry was that I’d tap the wrong button and accidentally swear in front of Harry and Meghan.

“Thankfully that didn’t happen and I really enjoyed myself once I was out on stage. The atmosphere was amazing and I really enjoyed my time on stage,” he divulged.

Lee was also fortunate enough to meet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and he spoke about the encounter: “It was lovely meeting Harry and Meghan afterwards.

“They told me how much they’d been looking forward to my act, which I found very surreal. I’ve never imagined the likes of the Queen watching BGT before.

“Harry also asked me what Simon Cowell was really like, so I told him that Simon was a pussycat really.”

Lee is currently touring around the UK and he spoke about the success he’s been having.

“I’m really excited to be on my first solo tour. During my BGT experience the general public were so supportive of me and everyone has been really lovely since, so it’s nice to give something back to them on tour.

“I’m excited to meet everyone and I hope they enjoy the show. The tour show is a typical Lost Voice Guy show, it’ll be cheeky, mischievous and, most of all, very funny.”

As well as a tour, Lee has been busy writing his first ever book, which was released earlier this month.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to write a book, so I’m delighted to have had the opportunity to do it. It’s called ‘I’m Only In It For The Parking’ and it [was] published in May.”

“It’s basically all about the stupid questions people ask me because I’m disabled. My favourites in the book are, ‘Have you ever tried to talk just to see what would happen?’ And, ‘Are you as clever as Stephen Hawking?’  Spoiler alert – I’m not!”

As for tonight’s viewers can expect a jam-packed finale to the series.

Britain’s Got Talent returns tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
