As Amazon Echo price cut again there’s a new feature owners can’t ignore

The Amazon Echo Dot has been reduced in price yet again.

This smaller device can now be picked up for under £30 making it one of the cheapest smart speakers on the market.

A number of retailers are selling the Dot at this reduced £29.99 price with Argos, Currys and Amazon all taking part in the sale.

This reduction comes as Amazon has just announced a vital new feature which is coming to these popular music makers.

The US firm says that it is introducing easier ways to delete your voice recordings on all Alexa-enabled devices.

The added extra now means all you have to do is ask “Alexa, delete what I just said” or “Alexa, delete everything I said today” and she will do the rest.

There’s also a new Alexa Privacy Hub which will offer a single source of information on how Echo devices are designed as well as the controls you have over your Alexa experience.

Along with this upgrade to Alexa, there’s also a new speaker joining this ever-growing Echo range.

The Echo Show 5 was revealed earlier this week and features a 5.5-inch display plus an in-built camera.

There’s also a new smart home dashboard on all Echo Show devices which gives you even more control over compatible smart home devices and groups.

You can also view your smart home camera feed and thermostats, access recently used devices, and manage smart devices by group.

“Since we launched the first Echo Show device, customers have told us that they love asking Alexa to show them things—whether it’s asking for their favourite recipes to cook along with, their shopping list, or music lyrics,” said Jorrit Van der Meulen, VP Amazon Devices EU.

“With Echo Show 5, we’ve made it even easier and affordable for customers to add a smart display to every room of their house.”

The new Echo Show 5 launches in the UK next month and costs £79.99 which is considerably less than the standard Echo Show (£219.99).

Echo Show 5 is available in Charcoal and Sandstone and will start shipping in the U.S., United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia next month.
