Melania Trump v Kate Middleton: Women will meet on Monday – who will look MOST stylish?

Melania Trump, 49, is one of the most photographed women in the world and has access to a wardrobe worth millions. The same can be said of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, 37, who is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful royals in the world. For the first time, the two ladies will meet, as Kate joins other senior members of the Royal Family to greet Melania and Donald Trump for the first day of the official state visit. All eyes will be on what the First Lady and the Duchess are wearing for the occasion.

It is likely that Melania will choose something fitted to show off her impressive model figure.

Formally a supermodel, Melania favours slim fitting dresses and pencil skirts to make the most of her long legs.

She is also rarely seen out of the highest of six inch heels – something caused controversy during her first year as First Lady.

While she sometimes wears her caramel coloured hair up in a sleek chignon, Melania tends to prefer to wear it loosely down over her shoulders.

Surprisingly for a woman of her wealth, Melania is not a fan of ostentatious jewellery, tending to stick to her engagement ring and not much else.

Kate, on the other hand, has access to the best jewellery cabinet in the world, and may well choose to wear something from the Queen’s collection.

Alternatively, she may use the time to promote a British jewellery designer – Kiki McDonough is one of her favourites.

While Melania is sure to wear a very expensive designer outfit, this is not a guarantee from the Duchess, who likes to mix up high street and designer pieces.

As it is a state visit, however, Kate will most likely turn to her favourite couturiers to welcome the President and his wife – and ensure she looks her best.

Emilia Wickstead and Jenny Packham are both designer favourites – as is Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, who designed Kate’s wedding gown.

What will Melania Trump be doing during her state visit? Donald and his wife have a packed schedule of official events while there, including a state banquet and lunch with the Queen.

Melania will accompany her US President husband on a string of official engagements when they visit the UK next week.

She will meet the Queen, visit No 10 Downing Street and attend a lavish banquet at Buckingham Palace.

The Trumps’ packed three-day schedule has been revealed ahead of their state visit.

Melania Trump: Five facts about the USA’s First Lady

Languages

Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.

This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.

Religion

After Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania is the second First Lady who is a practising Catholic.

She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.

Career

Melania was a successful model, posing for Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ.

Her skills aren’t confined to print, and she appeared in a commercial for Aflac, an American insurance company, in 2005.

Family

Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.

She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.

Charity

On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.

There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
