Robert Mueller BREAKS SILENCE on Trump investigation – Statement expected TODAY

It will be the first time he Mr Mueller has spoken publicly about his investigation since his report was published in April. He found there was no conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin but declined to make a judgment on whether Mr Trump obstructed justice during his probe. Mr Mueller was appointed in May 2017 to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election, links between Trump aides and Moscow and potential obstruction of justice by the president.

The final report was handed to US attorney general William Barr on March 22 and made public in redacted form last month.

Mr Mueller did not find a conspiracy between Mr Trump and Russia but did lay out 11 possible instances of obstruction of justice, indicating Congress should decide the next steps.

Mr Barr said he had judged the instances of possible obstruction not to be conclusive.

Mr Trump and his supporters have claimed total exoneration but Democrats in Congress are still considering whether to push for impeachment.
