OnePlus 7 features are coming to your OnePlus phone as major upgrade announced

OnePlus 7 Pro is the Shenzhen-based firm’s newest and most premium smartphone that was unwrapped earlier this month.

The handset boasts numerous hardware improvements over its successor such as a new 6.67-inch display, a triple camera system and speedy internals.

However, the 7 Pro also touts a number of software tricks that make OnePlus’ Oxygen OS skin the best it has ever been.

First and foremost, the handset comes with a built-in screen recorder that allows owners to easily share any action occurring on their device with others.

Secondly, the 7 Pro also has a feature the firm dubs “Zen Mode” that encourages users to take a break from their devices.

Essentially, once the mode is enabled the flagship will present a timer for 20 minutes; during which time the user will only have the ability to make emergency calls and use the device’s camera.

While these two features had previously been exclusive to OnePlus’ 7 series of handsets, the firm has now announced they will be making their way to the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5 in a new update.

In addition to the screen recorder and Zen Mode, owners of these older products will get access to other software functions such as Fnatic Mode that promises to optimise performance to deliver an improved gaming experience.

Discussing the upgrade set to debut for the quartet of OnePlus devices in the near future, the Chinese firm said: “Been seeing many of you wondering whether the new Oxygen OS features that made their first appearance on the OnePlus 7 Pro will make their way into our previous models!

“The answer is a big YES!

“As long the features are not hardware-dependent, you should see them popping up on your OnePlus 5, 5T, 6 and 6T in the future.”

OnePlus was also eager to detail the benefits some of the new software features deliver.

The tech powerhouse went on: “Get the Fanatic edge for an unmatched performance when playing multiplayer games online. We’ll help you have your device at its peak performance and help you get that sweet headshot or that epic combo move by blocking all distractions, boosting CPU performance and network speed, so that only your skills matter!

“A short farewell to the information overload brought on by the nonstop notifications from your smartphone, Zen Mode will provide you with 20 minutes where you can simply enjoy your surroundings without any distractions. Don’t worry, you’ll still have access to you camera and be able to make emergency calls.

“You can easily record that perfect game run and save your own record. Or rather use this feature to make a video tutorial and share your thoughts with others. Now, you can record with high quality, internal sound included, perfectly synchronised.”
