New iPhone 11 could come with this extremely useful upgrade

New iPhone 11 rumours have been heating up since the start of the year; the hardware is widely expected to come in a standard and Max variant, similar to what is already offered with the iPhone Xs.

One of the most poignant pieces of speculation surrounding the hardware concerns its rear camera system.

Back in January OnLeaks, collaborating with Digit, showcased alleged renders of the new iPhone 11.

The hardware was exhibited with a triple-camera system on its rear housed in a square-shaped module.

More recent rumours have corroborated such claims; it has been suggested the new Apple hardware could flaunt an ultra wide-angle lens for added photography diversity.

While many rumours have focused on the supposed cameras offered by Apple’s new product, it appears the tech powerhouse’s next flagship could also boast an extremely useful upgrade.

Japanese publication Mac Otakara, citing an Asian supplier, has stated Apple’s next device could tout a feature it dubbed “dual Bluetooth”.

As noted by the outlet, other devices from manufacturers such as Samsung already possess the functionality that allows two different Bluetooth devices to be connected at once.

Such functionality can be incredibly handy in numerous situations – for instance if two people are watching a film or listening to music on one device they can both be connected on different pairs of headphones.

Mac Otakara also highlighted the example of a user wanting to connect their phone to a car for Bluetooth navigation while also listening to music through headphones.

As noted by MacRumors, a device is required to have Bluetooth 5.0 in order to deliver dual audio functionality.

The outlet also pointed out the iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPhone Xs and iPhone XR all have such technology inside, meaning it is possible these devices could be updated to introduce the new feature.

Mac Otakara said its source did not disclose which forthcoming iPhone models could feature the new Bluetooth functionality.

Apple has a tradition of unwrapping its next-generation of iPhones in September.

Before then, the firm will take to the stage for WWDC on Monday, June 3, where it is anticipated to unveil the newest version of its iOS operating system, 13.

It is also presumed upgrades for its macOS and watchOS software will also be discussed.
