NBA trade news: Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard STUNNING snub to LeBron James

There will be more than half of all NBA players set to become free agents this summer with the potential of the entire league having a different outlook next season.

There are several All-Star calibre players possibly available, and the Lakers have been linked with a host of them.

Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker and Klay Thompson are just a few of the names linked with joining James in the offseason.

But one player who Lakers fans are eager to see in Los Angeles is Leonard.

The 27-year-old has been sensational in the playoffs so far, leading the Toronto Raptors to their first ever NBA Finals appearance.

And multiple reports have suggested Leonard favours a move back home to Los Angeles.

Another possible move for the Lakers will be to head into the trade market and try again for Davis.

It has been reported that Davis’ stance at wanting to leave the New Orleans Pelicans hasn’t changed since the franchise landed the No 1 pick in the NBA Draft Lottery.

But Damon Jones, who was an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers when they won the title in 2016, believes Davis and Leonard should look to team up at the Clippers.

“Both guys are in their primes and once they get together, they can play together for the next five, six or seven years,” he said on ESPN’s First Take.

“Kawhi Leonard understands what it’s like playing with a guy like Anthony Davis, being that he played with Tim Duncan in San Antonio.

“So I think it’s a great marriage and if they can both get to the Clippers I think it will be a great place.

“You have stability with Doc Rivers and Jerry West and Lawrence Frank.

“It’s just overall good for Kawhi and AD to get together.”
