The Chase: ‘Now, that’s odd!’ Bradley Walsh distrubed by contestant’s distressing story

The Chase aired this evening and it saw Bradley Walsh back presenting the ITV game show.

Tonight’s first contestant, Brian, engaged in a little bit of a conversation with Bradley and that’s when he revealed a rather bizarre story about his DIY skills.

He told Bradley how he managed to brick his cat underneath the floorboards once, and the game show presenter couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“Well I managed to brick out cat under the floorboards once,” Brian began.

A shocked Bradley replied: “Now, that’s odd,” az Brian went on to explain what actually happened.

He began: “There was a phone call,” beforeBradley interjected: “From the cat? ‘I’m under the floorboards.’”

The contestant replied: “No. I went to pick up the phone, and then came back and bricked it up.”

“The morning after we hear the car howling and it thought, ‘Oh no. Did I brick it under the floorboards?’”

However, Bradley didn’t seem the think that it was all his fault.

He asked: “That wasn’t their fault. Who was on the other end of the phone? It was their fault.”

David revealed: “Well, I do some voluntary work in the food bank, and I’m a school governor, I help out with that, and I was political for a while.”

Shocked, Bradley asked: “Seriously?” to which David replied: “Yeah I was the Mayor of Slough for about a year in 2015.”

“No!” Bradley exclaimed before David revealed: “Yeah and I met Prince Phillip and the Queen, it was a great experience.”

One said: “David seems like a really great bloke #TheChase,” and another wrote: “I love you David, #TheChase.”

Commenting on David’s wish to use the money to visit The Hobbit film set in New Zealand, one fan added: “Follow your hobbit dreams, David. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you #TheChase.”

The Chase airs weeknights at 5pm on ITV.
