Lorraine Kelly: Host speaks of career REGRET ahead of Coronation Street appearance

Lorraine Kelly. 59, has shared her famous sofa with a host of star-studded guests since 2010, but never got the opportunity to chat to David Bowie. The latter passed away back in January 2016 aged 69 following a battle with cancer. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk when asked if she has any regrets, she replied: “No regrets other than never having the chance to interview David Bowie. I’ve loved his music since 1969 and it would have been amazing to meet him.”

During a chat with the presenter, Lorraine also revealed who her worst interview has been with.

The presenter said she struggled to interview former astronaut Buzz Aldrin, 89, because she was fan-girling over him.

She spilled: “With Buzz, the second man on the moon, he came in the studio and I was beside myself.

“It was the worst interview I’ve ever done. I just kept going ‘Oh my God, Oh my God’ I was fan-girling over him.”

Lorraine also addressed the “most difficult” thing to do on her live show.

She added: “The most difficult thing is coming out [of an interview] on time because I’ve got to come out on time to the second.

“You’ve only got six minutes to talk to someone, it’s so difficult sometimes.”

Elsewhere, Lorraine will make a cameo in ITV show Coronation Street tonight.

Her appearance comes as part of her bucket list of things to do before she turns 60 in November.

In a sneak preview of tonight’s episode Gail Platt (Helen Worth) is seen boating on a lake with her daughter Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and granddaughter Bethany (Lucy Fallon) trying to track down Lorraine.

Lorraine, who stars as herself, can be seen glancing over at Gail on the boat, commenting: “Those women are going to capsize if they are not careful.”

After an incident on the boat, Gail sets off to hunt down Lorraine on her own, but the ending to their encounter remains under wraps.

Teasing the outcome, Lorraine spilled today: “It doesn’t end well.”

Ben Price, 47, who plays Nick Tilsley, recently said Lorraine has a “big part” in the storyline.

According to The Sun, he said: “She’s got a big part in this storyline. She’s got a stunt.

“She’s in the best family she could possibly be with – The Platts.”

Coronation Street continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
