Sony’s all-new Xperia 1 will be released later this week and it offers some of the biggest changes to the brand in years.
This latest flagship, from the Japanese technology firm, has a swathe of new features which include a radical 21:9 CinemaWide 6.5” 4K OLED display.
Sony says this tall screen will offer one of the best experiences on the market for watching movies as almost Hollywood blockbusters all are shot on this wider format.
This phone also includes High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos which should help to make things even more immersive.
Other new extras that arrive on this phone include a new triple rear camera which uses Sony’s acclaimed α (“Alpha”) interchangeable lens camera technology.
This rear snapper is made up of a standard 12-megapixel lens along with a wide-angle and telephoto option.
Via a collaboration with the engineers of Sony’s professional digital cinema camera division known for its CineAlta brand, the Xperia 1 should offer some nice extras when recording moving images.
You can shoot with natural cinematic tone and further apply expression-based colour management pre-sets with the new Cinema Pro feature.
Users can also create the intended mood from a total of eight different expressions to turn your clips into cinematic stories.
All of this can be shot in 4K HDR at 24 frames per second in 21:9 format.
Other features that are worth mentioning on the Xperia 1 include the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, a 3,300mAh battery and the return of Side Sense technology which allows easy access to your most popular apps.
