Red Dead Redemption 2 UPDATE: Red Dead Online news and Rockstar DLC latest

New Red Dead Redemption 2 Online updates are being planned in 2019, with Rockstar Games confirming some of their plans for the coming weeks.

This will include drip-feeding new content into Red Dead Online before another major multiplayer DLC release in June or July.

But before that happens, fans can enjoy new free roam missions and some early access content on PS4.

Riding out to the Adler Ranch in Ambarino will reunite with one of the game’s most prominent story characters.

Or, Red Dead Online fans can search out the infamous gunslinger Black Belle in Lemoyne.

Fans may also notice that In additional 25% RDO$ and Gold payouts are in effect for all A Land of Opportunities Missions, Free Roam Missions, Showdown Modes, Races and Free Roam Events this weekend.

Playing in a Posse this week also comes with some top benefits, allowing gang members to earn five bonus Gold Bars, as well as better XP by completing missions together.

When it comes to new content, Rockstar has confirmed that the Public Enemy Showdown Mode and Railroad Baron Free Roam Events will be arriving in June.

This will be followed by another big Summer update, which isn’t expected to drop until the end of next month, or possibly early July.

The Summer expansion will bring jobs to the game, each offering different gameplay options.

Fans are also hoping that property will be added to the game in the coming months, something that proved massive in GTA Online.

It’s seem very likely that buying property will be a feature rolled out slowly by Rockstar in 2019.

But at this time, there is no guarantee it will be ready by July, however, here is what we do know is being planned:

“Starting this summer, players will be able to take on the first three of a series of new roles: track down wanted criminals as a bounty hunter; search the world for treasure, and other exotic items to sell as a collector; or build a business at camp as a trader and more.

“Each new role will come with a range of unique gameplay along with a host of new outfits, weapons and other rewards to earn. Players will have the option to focus on a specific role to advance quickly and unlock each role’s unique attributes, or simultaneously progress across multiple roles as you play naturally to create your own unique character and path through the frontier.

Another big summer rumour is that Rockstar Games may be ready to announce a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port.

An official Linked In page has been found for a physics programmer that lists Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC as a project they have worked on, along with the console versions.

There have been other hints that RDR2 is coming to PC, including VR code being found for the game.

It would be an amazing combo to get a big Summer DLC expansion and news of a Red Dead 2 PC release.

But until Rockstar Games confirm it themselves, this will all need to be taken with a big pinch of salt.

A recent statement shared by parent company Take-Two Interactive indeed suggests that Red Dead Online will remain a massive part of the company’s plans for 2019.

“Red Dead Online is poised for success, and net bookings grew sequentially in the fourth quarter…

The statement adds: “We’re as excited as ever about the long term opportunity for Red Dead Online. In fiscal year 2019, recurrent consumer spending exceeded our expectations, growing 20% to a new record and accounting for 39% of total net bookings.

“In addition to virtual currency for NBA 2K, Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online, the current consumer spending was enhanced by a variety of other offerings.”
