Coronation Street spoilers: Bethany Platt’s return CONFIRMED despite shock exit?

Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon was cast as Bethany Platt back in 2015. However, she recently left the ITV soap.

Lucy’s exit came a bit of a show, yet it’s believed that it might have something to do with the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing.

That said, despite only quit the show a few weeks ago, the former Coronation Street star revealed she wouldn’t say no to coming back.

This came after she revealed to The Mirror that she was “sad” to give up such a great role like Bethany.

She told the paper: “I will be sad, but I’m excited to see what’s going to happen in the future, although I have no idea what’s going to happen.”

That was when she reassured fans that they hadn’t seen the last of the popular character.

Lucy said: “When I leave I’ll have been there for five years, and I’ve never done anything else…

She then added: “But I’ll end up going back – I’ll be back.”

Lucy has become the seventh cast member to leave the soap in the last three months.

However, fans of the soap will be happy to hear that she’s not ruling out a comeback.

It’s since been reported by The Sun that Lucy could be about to star in the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing.

A source told The Sun: “Lucy is a huge fan of Strictly and was invited to watch last year’s live show in Blackpool.

“When Strictly bosses realised she was keen, they told her she’d have to quit Corrie because of its ban on deals.

“Lucy took the plunge as she knows her acting career has more opportunities ahead than sticking around in Weatherfield.

“Talks have started between her representatives and Strictly bookers. Some male dancers already want to partner her.”

Meanwhile, it looks like Corrie fans are about to see Nick Tilsley’s (played by Ben Price) secret come out.

However, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) could be the one who will deliver the brutal news, and the move could put him in danger from his older brother.

Jack recently spoke about the new storyline and explained how there would definitely be consequences for David in the coming weeks.

The actor said: “[He doesn’t] throw Nick under the bus, but Nick started all this, so David thinks if he’s going down, he’s going to take Nick down with him.

“David doesn’t think he’s going to get away scot-free. There’s going to be consequences for the pair of them, but he’s prepared to face that.”

Coronation Street airs weeknights on ITV at 9pm.
