Carol Vorderman: ‘I’m petrified!’ Countdown star reveals saucy new 'party trick'

Carol Vorderman, 58, spilled on her new tricks during this morning’s broadcast of her show on BBC Radio Wales. The presenter made a surprising admission whilst speaking to her co-host Owain Evans where she revealed she wants to be able to do a handstand and the splits. The ex Countdown star, said: “I said a couple of weeks ago, I need new party tricks because I’m running out of them. “They’re a bit stale my party tricks and I do love a party and I love a trick.”

Her co-host Owain added in agreement: “True.”

She continued: “I want my new party tricks to be doing a handstand. Why, I don’t know? I feel that I need to lose energy sometimes. Also the splits.

“But today I’m going to learn how to do a handstand and I’m terrified of it.”

The age-defying beauty recalled a moment in her childhood where she ended up landing badly on her back which ultimately put her off from doing handstands.

“When I was young I must’ve had a bad accident,” Carol divulged.

She said: “You know when you’re a kid, everyone does handstands in the playing fields and stuff. I think I must’ve landed badly on my back. Because you know you go over.

Owain interjected: “It’s scary.”

The small-screen star agreed, saying: “I’m actually petrified of it.”

This didn’t stop the star from fulfilling her commitment to learn a new party trick as she attempted to do three handstands in the studio whilst on-air.

With an instructor guiding the radio presenter, Carol could be heard screaming as she attempted the handstand.

Her co-host said: “This is handstand number two attempt now.”

Carol then shouted: “Aaaah!!!” as the guide told her how to balance on her hands.

Owain commented: “You looked completely upright.”

The beauty later took to Twitter and shared a series of snaps as she sported a pair of tight leggings as she undertook the handstand challenge.

In view of her 401,000 followers, she captioned the photo: “First stage of learning a handstand…#WeirdFeeling…chair procedure…followed by legs up on Wall and walk hands back to the wall…promise I’ll practise ⁦@raertheakerx⁩…my new teacher…hooray for @bbcradiowales ⁦@bengomedia⁩ ⁦@OwainWynEvans.”

Fans commented on the hilarious photo, as one person said: “You can do it Carol, Crumbs you can Fly a Plane. So this should be a walk in the park so to speak!”

Another person quipped: “Reckon you’ll have seen breakfast for a second time!”

Sunday Morning with Carol Vorderman airs Sundays on BBC Radio Wales at 9.30am.
