Britain’s Got Talent 2019: Viewers outraged as fan favourite misses out on semi-finals

Britain’s Got Talent aired the last of this year’s auditions tonight and the judges made the final decision over which acts should be sent home and which acts will get the chance to perform during the live shows.

However fans weren’t happy with some of the acts Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams decided to send home.

Fans of the ITV talent show were disappointed to see comedian Sheila Simmonds miss out on a spot.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “So Sheila Simmonds never made it through . She was amazing and very entertaining #BGT.”

Another asked: “What happened to @sheilasimmonds (#busylady) #BGT. Is she through to semis or not?”

“Devastated @SheilaSimmonds isn’t in live semis but will be supporting Siobhan Phillips,” said a third.

A fourth added: “They sent HARP LADY through??? but not BUSY LADY SHEILA SIMMONDS???????? A JOKE.”

Other viewers shared the sentiment and weren’t pleased with some of the acts who made it through to the next stage.

One fan remarked: “The majority of the acts that have gone through are awful #BGT.”

A second viewer said: “What the hell? Some of the “talent” having got through to the semi finals of #BGT are atrocious! Hand farting guy? Woman who got VERY up close and personal with a harp? Really???”

However some viewers shared their excitement at the acts going through and were looking forward to the semi-finals.

“All the acts i wanted went threw so im a happy girlie. Thanks #BGT,” tweeted a viewer.

“@BGT I’m sooo happy all my faves are through to the lives. Bring on Monday an exciting week ahead I can’t wait #bgt #BritainsGotTalent,” added another.

A third revealed her favourite and said: “So happy the Chelsea Pensioner Colin is through, he’s stolen my heart… #BGT

Acts through to the semi-finals include Rosie and Adam, Dave and Finn, Matt Sterling and Angels Inc.

Kojo Amin, Akshat Singh, Chapter 13, Giorgia Borg, and Flakefleet Children’s Choir all secured their place in the semi-finals by receiving the Golden Buzzer.

Earlier in tonight’s show, viewers slammed the timing of showing a Theresa May impersonator act after the Prime Minister’s recent resignation.

The act involved the impersonator strutting onto stage and performing an energetic dance routine before stripping off to reveal a revealing black swimsuit.

However, viewers at home branded the act “awkward” with one tweeting: “Well that’s a bit doing a Theresa May intro when she’s no longer Prime Minister #BGT.”

“This Theresa May act is a bit untimely isn’t it #BGT,” echoed another.

Britain’s Got Talent airs Monday on ITV at 7.30pm.
