In a corresponding move, they recalled outfielder Skye Bolt from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Davis sustained the injury in Pittsburgh on May 5 and has been in and out of the lineup, playing in seven of the 15 games since then. The seven-year veteran led the majors with 48 home runs last season and is hitting .248 with 12 homers and 29 RBIs this season.

Bolt, 25, made his major league debut with the A’s during three games in Pittsburgh from May 3-5. He was sent back to Las Vegas on May 7 and is batting .311 with six home runs and 30 RBIs in 34 games in Triple-A.

—The Arizona Diamondbacks placed left fielder David Peralta on the 10-day injured list due to a right shoulder injury. The move is retroactive to Wednesday.

Arizona recalled Kevin Cron — the minor league leader with 21 homers — and outfielder Tim Locastro from Triple-A Reno. The Diamondbacks also optioned right-hander Jimmie Sherfy to Reno.

Peralta, 31, is batting .309 with seven homers and 30 RBIs in 46 games. Cron, 26, has never played in a major league game despite hitting more than 20 homers in five straight seasons. He is the younger brother of Minnesota Twins first baseman C.J. Cron.

—The New York Mets agreed to a minor league deal with veteran right-hander Ervin Santana, and multiple reports indicated outfielder Matt Kemp also signed a similar deal.

Santana went 0-2 with a 9.45 ERA for the Chicago White Sox earlier this season. He served up six homers in just 13 1/3 innings before being designated for assignment. After clearing waivers, Santana chose to become a free agent. The 36-year-old still must pass a physical to make the deal official.

Kemp, 34, started the season with Cincinnati and was released on May 5 after batting .200 with one homer and five RBIs.
