Jessica Chastain husband: Inside wedding to ‘noble’ Italian who credits Armani as mentor

Jessica Chastain is starring in the newest movie in the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Jessica plays a shapeshifter, who becomes a mentor to Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) encouraging her to embrace her powers and turn against her mutant friends. Jean’s powers are amplified after a rescue mission in space, and she threatens the safety of those around her. X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released on June 5 in the UK and on June 7 for the US.

Jessica Chastain has played a wealth of characters, including Molly Bloom, in the 2017 film Molly’s Game, as well as starring in 2011 movie The Help, 2012 film Zero Dark Thirty and the upcoming horror film It: Chapter 2.

In It: Chapter 2, the sequel to 2017’s It, Jessica plays grown-up Beverly Marsh – who reunites with her childhood friends after a devastating phone call brings them back to their hometown.

She has often described herself as shy, and often spoken out against discrimination women and minorities face in Hollywood.

Jessica, 40, has also kept relatively quiet about her love life but told Extra magazine she was “very, very happy” with her then-boyfriend Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.

She said: “It’s a wonderful thing when a career does so well and your personal life goes so well.”

Now married, Jessica and Gian Luca, 34, tied the knot in 2017 in his native Italy after five years together.

They wed in the northern Italian city of Treviso at the Passi de Preposulo family estate Villa Tiepolo Passi, which is less than an hour north of Venice.

The stunning Italian villa where the wedding took place has been in the Passi de Preposulo family since the 1800s but dates back to the 17th century.

Generations of the family have lived in the palatial home for years and even produces its own fizz — Prosecco di Villa Tiepolo Passi.

The property features beautifully manicured Italian-style gardens which are decorated with stunning fountains and statues.

Celebrities attended the ceremony with Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman spotted arriving, as well as Emily Blunt and Jessica’s Zero Dark Thirty co-star Edgar Ramirez.

On tonight’s The Graham Norton Show, Jessica will be joined by Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy who star alongside her in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Michael and James reprise their roles as Magneto and Charles Xavier in the film.

Sophie Turner will also be on the show, after what will have been a hectic week for the actress after the Game of Thrones finale – in which she played Sansa Stark.

Sophie takes on the role of Jean Grey/Phoenix in the new X-Men film – an extremely powerful mutant with telepathic and telekinetic powers who battles with a dominating entity which threatens to take over.

The Graham Norton Show is on tonight at 10.35pm on BBC One.
