James Martin: ‘You’ve ruined it’ Saturday Morning TV chef slammed for ‘cheating’ on-air

James Martin, 46, is known for his delicious recipes which he displays on his ITV show along with celebrity guests and it was no different when the TV chef was joined by British actress Georgia May Foote, 28, and Paul Ainsworth, 40. Paul revealed to viewers how he goes about cutting his lattice pastry to the former Coronation Street actress’ surprise where she slammed him for using a pastry crimper. The TV chef said: “This next bit is optional, and I know he [James] will moan at me for doing it. But it just makes it look lovely,” referring to the neatly cut pastry topping. He continued: “So that is just the same piece of pastry,” before placing the topping on the pie.

Georgia then asked: “How do you even get it that like that?” referring to the holes in the pastry.

Before the chef replied: “One of them,” as he picked up a pastry crimper and held it in the air.

The seemingly stunned former Strictly Come Dancing contestant fumed: “That’s cheating! I thought you did that by hand.”

Her obvious surprise had both chefs in a sudden fit of giggles as they laughed at the suggestion.

“Did you think that we did that by hand?” Paul asked, before he and James let out a loud chuckle.

To her dismay, Georgia seemingly appeared unimpressed at their confession as she said they had “ruined it” for her.

She said: “You know what, see you later,” with a shocked expression etched on her face.

Paul then quizzed: “Have I ruined it for you?” with the British actress nodding in agreement before she added: “Absolutely ruined it.”

Both James and Paul could not help but continue to laugh at Georgia’s visible disappointment.

She added: “I’m not eating now,” as she crossed her arms across her chest before Paul continued to tell viewers how to complete their pastry.

Despite Georgia’s shock, the trio later tucked into the tasty looking treat, as they laughed off the cut pastry revelation.

Meanwhile, James recently opened about his weight loss and admitted he shed the pounds after reading negative comments about his weight online.

The ITV favourite told The Sun: “I looked on social media and every comment was about me being fat.

“So I lost a stone-and-a-half. And no doubt I’ll lose another stone on this tour.”

But insisting the comments didn’t get the better of him, he added: “I’ve always been surrounded by food.

“I was brought up on a farm, I worked on a farm producing pigs. You have to understand food and I am seriously passionate about ingredients.”

James Martin’s Saturday Morning airs Saturdays on ITV at 9.30am.
