Chelsea ace David Luiz fires warning to team-mates over Unai Emery and Arsenal

The two Premier League giants come up against each other in the Azerbaijan capital on Wednesday evening.

Chelsea are already secured a spot in next season’s Champions League having finished third in the Premier League.

Arsenal know a win over the Blues will give them a spot in Europe’s premier domestic cup competition despite a fifth-placed Premier League finish.

Emery has won the Europa League three times, all as manager of Sevilla.

And Luiz has warned Chelsea that the Spaniard’s experience as well as Arsenal’s Champions League wants could prove vital.

“He is a specialist in this competition,” Luiz told the Daily Mail.

“They have the motivation to get into the Champions League, but we understand this is a final and a big title and we need to win it.”

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is also wary that Arsenal may have more motivation going into the match.

He said: “It’s a risk of course.

“We have to consider the pressure. At this moment, we risk having less motivation than our opponents.

“But probably Arsenal have more pressure on them than we do.

“So there is a positive side and a negative side. We didn’t want to play this final for a Champions League place

“As I said, we wanted to get into the Champions League through the Premier League.

“Then we want to win a trophy. So this final is very important for us.

“We aren’t playing for the Champions League, but we feel we deserve to win a trophy.”

Arsenal and Chelsea kick off at 8pm UK time on Wednesday night.
